Hello World!

Finding moments that involve digital media in my life is nothing new for myself. Daily I find myself opening multiple forms of digital media to pass the time. Typically, it can be multiple times a day I find myself on a either Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube, either find something to buy on Facebook marketplace or just to see what meme or video my friends are sending me through direct messaging on Instagram. They are also used to see what my old friends are doing in their new life of either becoming a parent or even traveling around the world. While mainly using YouTube to listen to music or podcasts, it also serves as another way to find how to fix stuff around the house or creating new projects/hobbies I have gained.

When trying to outweigh the positives and negatives of social media reactions, it can depend on the person that is using certain platforms. When a person’s whole life is to be only on social media it can hurt their ability to talk to people face to face. While they may have adapted to being able to showcase themselves online as a great person it can be a negative effect for them in the real world since they can’t interact with people now and that’s where we start seeing the negatives of social media.

As for the positives for social media, many have found a career when using social media. With certain material they upload, they can find themselves being sponsored or paid through ads that are in their posts. While it has been seen more commonly now, many have chosen to find a path to use social media for their own amusement and make a career out of it. With larger influencers started making their own products and being able to showcase them on their videos/posts, they are finding a new source of income from their hard work in the social media space.

With many new ways to accomplish marketing on social media the more modern use of marketing is using social media influencers to make sponsorship videos with the products that the company endorsing the post is trying to get out there. With newer ways that are still available, many companies are still trying to figure out how to use social media in their advantage for exposure.

Taking part in the digital media world comes with lots of perks but if someone isn’t able to make the best of it, it can definitely make it harder on themselves since we see the world changing everyday especially in the career one choses to go into.
